I have not managed to make it to Learning Tech today, wondering what people's thoughts were on it, virtual classroom related or not.
I am avidly following the #tag but thought the community might have some interesting thoughts also.

Hey Mike, I went along. Great as always with loads of different conversations. Lots of talk about different technologies and how to leverage them, and Amy Burvall's opening keynote about creativity really struck a chord with me. What I've seen Jo doing in virtual is to be creative with the tech avaialbe to her, and in slides, acitvitys and all those things too. There is not much mention of virtual specificially that i saw, but i think that's good in some ways, as it could be perceived as more normal maybe?

I thought there was a great mix of different free conference sessions, including stuff about learning an the types of organisations we are in or wanting to be, of which virtual classrooms can play a part :D
I am surprised they don't stream / record the sessions and publish them. Might be one for Lightbulb Moments to look at in the future - stream live events or get someone willing to give you the chance to stream stuff.Â
Enjoyed the day - heard Donald Clark talk about AI which is always entertaining - VR session was boring - nothing new there really and the experience session with NSJ was interesting if not a bit gimiky - as always catching up with people is the highlight :)
I like the live streaming idea! My camera can do it I must actually read up on how to do it!
I was following on Twitter and Donald Clark's talk seemed entertaining, at one point it went crazy with AI won't take your L&D job!
I went along too - enjoyed the keynote and Krystyna Gadd's session (I won myself a poster!). Myles Runham's session on UX design was particularly useful for some current stuff I'm working on, but I was a little disappointed with Nick Shackleton-Jones's learning experience session. Some great ideas but no strong thread throughout, and was very close to becoming an am-dram/panto production. Plus, my Sharpie tattoo took days to wash off...
All in all, great fun and, as always, great people :)
The keynote sounded very inspirational, on Twitter there were some great quotes and thoughts from it. As Mike Collins says above about live streaming, I would have streamed the keynote at a minimum.
Sounds like a mix bagged for you Ned, I often find this at conferences, always one or two sessions that don't quite manage expectactions.

Yeah, one of those "get to know your neighbour" exercises, where you get to know your neighbour and then design a tattoo for them. And then draw it on them. With a Sharpie. Which was nice.
