Can AI help with the virtual classroom? I asked ChatGPT, and this is what it said:

Here are some ways that AI is likely to impact the future of live training events in the virtual classroom:

Adaptive learning: AI can help create personalized and adaptive learning experiences for each learner during a live training event in the virtual classroom. This can be achieved by analyzing learners' behaviors, preferences, and performance, and adapting the content and delivery to meet their needs.

Intelligent chatbots: AI-powered chatbots can be integrated into virtual classrooms to answer learners' questions and provide real-time support. These chatbots can use natural language processing to understand learners' queries and provide accurate and relevant responses.

Real-time feedback and assessment: AI can provide real-time feedback and assessment during a live training event in the virtual classroom. For instance, an AI-powered system can analyze learners' responses to quizzes and provide immediate feedback.

Personalized coaching: AI can provide personalized coaching to learners during a live training event in the virtual classroom. This can be achieved by analyzing learners' performance and behavior, and providing feedback and guidance in real-time.

Speech recognition: AI-powered speech recognition can be used to transcribe live training events in the virtual classroom, making it easier for learners to review and refer back to the content covered during the session.

Here are some references that explore the impact of AI on live training events in the virtual classroom:

Jo and I recently chatted a whole ton about how we changed our content during covid and especially now going forward. We identified that the whole virtual learning landscape had shifted with many learners in different positions.

This got me thinking about if any of you in the Lightbulb Community had to re-design content during or now in the post pandemic world?

Perhaps you don’t take as long explaining the tools? Maybe you have more advanced activities because yourself and the attendees are more accustomed to the technology. Are you still trying to adapt face-to-face sessions into live online sessions?

We would love to hear your thoughts because design is such an interesting topic especially right now! Also, we might do a podcast in the future about this and would love to include your comments.

Below is a podcast where Jo and I talk about our own design journey from 2020 and into 2023 with massive changes in our philosophy, to get you into a creative and reflective mindset!

There are some tricks of the trade to help you stay focused, so you'll be able to complete your tasks and keep your grades up. Taking a few minutes to implement a few of these tips may be the key to getting you to study, even when you don't want to.

The first thing you should do is write down your reasons for studying. For instance, you may have a career goal in mind. Another reason may be to have some fun with it. Whatever the reason, you should make sure you write it down so you can refer to it every time you feel the urge to procrastinate.

In addition to writing down your goals, you should also post them where you can see them daily. Make sure you have a reward system for reaching those goals. This can be something small like candy or a movie ticket. You can also gamify studying to make it fun, or you can find a tutor or study buddy to help you along the way.

The next thing you should do is make a plan. Plan your study time and schedule some study breaks. Take a walk, drink some water, and even eat a balanced meal. Doing things that get your body moving can boost your brainpower and break you out of your studying funk.

The best way to find best way to motivate yourself is to set reasonable goals. Instead of trying to study everything at once, break it up into small chunks and work toward each one. Having a specific reward for each completed task can also be a good motivator.

There are plenty of other ways to find the best way to motivate yourself, but these tips should give you a good start. Of course, you'll have to do the hard work, but the rewards will be well worth it.

Finally, the best way to find the best way to motivate you is to have a good accountability partner. An accountability partner can be someone else, like a teacher or friend, or tutor from https://thesisgeek.com/writers.php, to check in with you about your progress. Also, set a deadline and see if you can meet it. Having a deadline can motivate you to get to work on time. Keeping your promises is another important incentive.

While these are just a few tips to get you motivated to study, the real secret to being successful at it is to treat it as a necessary part of life. When you feel overwhelmed, you may want to take a step back, and consider what you're truly interested in. Once you've found your interest, you can focus on the rest of the work. And when you've reached the end of your to-do list, you'll be rewarded for your hard work. Remember that you are responsible for your own learning and that you have the power to make yourself study!

Early participation in online learning activities is significantly correlated with student final performancehttps://lightbulbmoment.community/groups/opencommunity/forum/early-participation-in-online-learning-activities-is-significantl2022-12-06T10:06:18.000Z2022-12-06T10:06:18.000ZAngela Greenhttps://lightbulbmoment.community/members/AngelaGreen

Hi everyone

Found this research article - Does the early bird catch the worm?
Laura Overton and I had to decide our stance last year when we were asked to desgin and host a hybrid conference together. Some of the hybrid events we had attended were just live streams of all the action happening elsewhere, and we wanted to make sure that we had a really connected event.

We've written a case study on how we designed the hybrid conference from scratch, unifying the audiences and getting amazing feedback.

So I have to change the method of delivery. In the face-to-face format I started with a counting exercise. This exercise goes in the following way:

Have folks break into pairs, one partner facing the other. Their task is to count to three again and again, as fast as they can, alternating numbers. Partner A says “One,” Partner B says “Two,” and A finishes the triplet by saying “Three.” As soon as they’ve finished, they start again, this time B leading with “One” so the counting loops around in continuous fashion. After a minute or so, check in with players to see how that went. You’ll likely find folks surprised by how difficult the task proved.

After that first round, offer directions for the second: with the same partners as before, count back and forth again, but instead of saying “One,” participants should clap. Now, the sequence goes Clap-“Two”-“Three.” Invite players to register their reactions if they “fail” or make a mistake. What happens, specifically, in their bodies, faces, or thoughts? After this round, you’ll often find that your pairs struggled even more—the toggling between verbal and kinesthetic processing takes a bit more brain time for most.

The next round ups the ante even further: instead of saying “Two,” players now snap their fingers so the rhythm goes Clap-Snap-“Three.” Same partners, same task: alternate back and forth, going as quickly as possible.

One of the take-aways from this exercise is that change isn't easy, but once you have started with a small change it is easier to continue with adding small changes. For my online version I am looking for a exercise where I can deliver the same take-away. Does anyone have an idea I could do in the online environment?

Thanks in advance!

Virtual classroom and hybrid learning research report from Lightbulb Moment and PeopleStarhttps://lightbulbmoment.community/groups/opencommunity/forum/virtual-classroom-and-hybrid-learning-research-report-from-lightb2022-10-27T08:24:37.000Z2022-10-27T08:24:37.000ZJo Cookhttps://lightbulbmoment.community/members/JoCook

I'm very excited to tell you that we are launching a research report!

56% of people prefer to learn in small virtual classrooms, with up to just 10 participants... but that's often not what organisations are delivering.

33% of organisations are guided by best practice principles... but none of the professionals in our research said that their performance was measured against best practice.

Only 6% of organisations have an evidence-based approach.

I played a game (Western Legends) which had a LOT of things going on, so that's interesting about learning the rules, using the parts and the cheat sheets - what's intuitive, what isn't, how things are summarise and explained, the graphics and what they mean etc. And then how can I improve those things in my own work.

Using the new InFrame Pod for Adobe Connect, you can now add interactivity to either waiting times before a session starts or to breaks.

I offered to write a blog post in English with a list of links that you can use with that custom pod. You can find it at https://blog.1step.to/2022/05/design-interactive-lobby-and-break-times/. The link list is set up as an H5P element so that you can either download and integrate or embed it into your website or intranet.

So far, this blog post only talks about non-synchronized links. The participants won't see what others do on the sites linked. However, there are quite a number of links and tools, that can be used to collaborate within Adobe Connect using the InFrame Pod. There will be other posts following up on this topic.

Please let me know what you think about it and how you make use of that custom pod in Adobe Connect.

Best regards,

Susanne

Collaboration Supercards - my favourite new purchasehttps://lightbulbmoment.community/groups/opencommunity/forum/collaboration-supercards-my-favourite-new-purchase2022-05-09T13:32:30.000Z2022-05-09T13:32:30.000ZPaul Norringtonhttps://lightbulbmoment.community/members/PaulNorrington

Hi All.

Anyone use these already? Hoping someone here might have had a similar experience:

We ask our learners to register through a separate platform from Zoom. Once they register, they get the Zoom link. On the day of the session, when they use the link, they are taken to a Zoom registration page. We are trying to avoid having to have them register twice,

We looked into authentification in Zoom, but it looks like everyone would need a Zoom account, and many of our Learners do not have/can not have Zoom accounts.

Has anyone ran in to anything like this before? For example, is there a way we could upload a list of registered people somewhere in the backend, so when anyone on that list click the link to join, they can join and not have to register?

I am just at a loss here, and if anyone has ever ran into any of this before - or even have ideas as to where else I could find my answers- I would be greatly appreciative!!!

Thank you so much for reading this very long question :-)

Virtual Classroom software comparisonhttps://lightbulbmoment.community/groups/opencommunity/forum/virtual-classroom-software-comparison2022-03-24T12:26:49.000Z2022-03-24T12:26:49.000ZRichard Pearcehttps://lightbulbmoment.community/members/RichardPearce

Does anyone know of any research where the main platforms for virtual delivery have been compared?
When I begin my sessions I always make sure to explain to people how to use the particular software we are using, such as how to open chat in Zoom and so on. I feel it's important to explain this at the beginning.

I had some feedback from a colleague recently that perhaps I was spending too much time on this and it wasn't very engaging for people who already know how to do these things.

I wonder about the experiences and recommendations of this community?
